More than 80 animals have been rescued from appalling conditions in a property in Tickhill, Doncaster, following a joint operation by South Yorkshire Police and the RSPCA.
“Working their way around the property, the team were met with faeces, filth and, around every corner and room, more dogs,” said South Yorkshire Police in a statement.

One by one, officers removed the animals from the premises and transported them to safety. All the rescued animals are now in secure kennelling where they are being assessed and cared for.
Police confirmed that an investigation is underway to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the neglect.
“Animal cruelty will not be tolerated across South Yorkshire, and we will work with partners to ensure that those responsible are held accountable,” a police spokesperson added.
The incident has sparked renewed calls for vigilance and for the public to report any suspected cases of animal neglect or hoarding. Anyone with information that could aid the ongoing investigation is encouraged to contact South Yorkshire Police or the RSPCA.
