In a dramatic rescue operation, Kent Fire and Rescue Service successfully saved four individuals trapped in a vehicle stranded in floodwaters in Paddock Wood, Tonbridge. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Friday, January 5, 2024, as heavy rains continued to swell local waterways.
The emergency response began at 3.22 pm when authorities received reports of a car submerged in floodwater along Darman Lane in Paddock Wood. In a swift and coordinated effort, two fire engines and the water safety unit were dispatched to the scene to assist the occupants of the stranded vehicle.
Upon arrival, rescue teams, clad in specialized drysuits, immediately went to work. They approached the partially submerged car, which had become trapped in the rising floodwaters. With utmost care and precision, firefighters managed to extricate all four occupants from the vehicle, ensuring their safety and well-being.
