Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery involving a 15-year-old girl on Seaside Road in Eastbourne. The incident occurred around 9 PM on Thursday, 18 July, near the junction with Southbourne Road.
The young victim was approached by a man wielding a knife who demanded that she hand over her possessions. Fortunately, a passerby intervened, causing the suspect to flee the scene empty-handed. While the girl was understandably shaken by the encounter, she was not physically harmed.
Investigating officers are now seeking the public’s help in identifying a man captured in a photo, as they believe he may have information crucial to their ongoing investigation.
Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who recognizes the individual or who may have relevant CCTV, doorbell, or dash cam footage from the area at the time of the incident.
