Kent Police have launched an appeal for information following a sexual assault on a woman travelling on a bus in north Kent earlier this year.

The incident occurred at around 5pm on Tuesday 25 February 2025 aboard the 480 Arriva bus service between Gravesend and Dartford. The victim reported that she was touched inappropriately over her clothing and subjected to lewd comments by a man she did not know. The suspect exited the bus on Dartford High Street shortly after the assault.

Description of Suspect

The man is described as:

  • White

  • Aged in his early to mid-40s

  • Short dark hair and thick eyebrows

  • Spoke with a foreign accent

  • Wearing a dark raincoat and blue jeans

  • Carrying a rucksack, a can of beer, and a plastic carrier bag containing additional cans

Ongoing Investigation

Police have been examining CCTV footage from the bus and locations along the route as part of ongoing enquiries. Investigators are now seeking help from the public to identify the man involved.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said:

“We are appealing to anyone who was on the 480 bus at the time, or who may have seen a man matching the description in Dartford High Street on that evening, to come forward. Any detail, no matter how small, may help our investigation.”
