West Midlands Police have issued an update following a large emergency service presence in the Bell Hill area of Northfield on Monday evening (March 10).

Officers were called to the scene at around 9.20pm, where the body of a man was discovered in nearby woodland.

In a statement released today, police confirmed that the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and the matter will now be referred to the coroner for formal proceedings.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said:

“The body of a man was found in woodland on Bell Hill at around 9.20pm.
His death is not suspicious and will be referred to the coroner. Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends.”

The discovery led to a heavy emergency service presence, including police units and paramedics, which sparked concern among local residents on Monday night.

While the identity of the man has not yet been made public, officers have confirmed that his next of kin have been informed, and support is being provided to his loved ones.
