Teenager Arrested Following Double Stabbing in Kirkby as Police Appeal for Witnesses

A teenage boy has been arrested after two teenagers were stabbed in a violent incident in Kirkby last night.

At 8.25pm on Wednesday, April 30, armed police were called to Whitefield Drive in the Westvale area after reports that two teenagers had been stabbed.

A 15-year-old boy suffered multiple stab wounds to his body, while a 14-year-old girl sustained a single stab wound to the chest. Both victims are currently in hospital, where they are described as being in a serious but stable condition. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Arrest and Ongoing Investigation

Merseyside Police confirmed that a 14-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody and will be interviewed by detectives.

Initial enquiries suggest the attack may be linked to an earlier dispute involving a group of youths in the Tithe Barn Lane area. Officers are conducting house-to-house enquiries, reviewing CCTV footage, and appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective Inspector Graeme Osborne said:

“It was a pleasant summer’s evening, and we know there would have been people in and around the Westvale area, both in cars and on foot.

We are appealing for anyone who saw anything or captured footage on their mobile phone or dashcam to contact us.

We are working proactively to drive down knife crime across Merseyside and want to remind young people that carrying a knife actually increases the risk of harm.
