The family of 15-year-old Ryan Marshall, who tragically died following a collision in Andover, have paid tribute to him, describing him as a “lovely, caring boy” with a “cheeky smile and sense of humour.”
The collision occurred at approximately 6pm on Saturday, December 21, when a silver Ford Fiesta struck Ryan, a pedestrian, on New Street near ATS Tyres. Despite being rushed to hospital, Ryan succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, December 22.
Heartfelt Tribute
In a statement released today, Ryan’s mother expressed her grief, saying:
“Ryan was a lovely, caring boy with a cheeky smile and wicked, cheeky sense of humour. He was loved so much by me, the family and everyone who knew him. We are all very heart-broken that he was taken from us.”
Specialist officers from Hampshire Police are providing support to Ryan’s family during this difficult time.
Ongoing Investigation
The driver of the vehicle involved, a 29-year-old woman from Andover, was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs. She has since been released from custody but remains under investigation as enquiries continue.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing to the public for assistance.
