Victim attacked but left before police arrived

Detectives are appealing for help to identify a man they believe may have been injured in an assault. Police were called at approximately 4.30pm on Tuesday, 7 May to reports of an assault on Eynsham Drive in uk/news/uk/Abbey-Wood" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Abbey Wood" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="67827">Abbey Wood, SE2. Officers attended the scene but the victim and suspects had left prior to their arrival. They were subsequently informed by witnesses that the victim may have suffered stab injuries to his leg. Enquiries have been made at a number of hospitals in the area but the victim has not been located. Detectives are appealing for anyone who recognises the man, who was captured on CCTV, to come forward and speak with them. It is likely that he will require medical attention. Officers would also appeal to the man to make contact. At this stage of the investigation, he is believed to be a victim and his welfare is the main priority. Anyone with information is asked to contact the South East Command Unit via 101 quoting reference 5005/07May. There have been no arrests in connection with the original call to police.
