Woman critical after Newquay Cliff Fall

A woman is in a critical condition after falling 40ft from a cliff at Towan Beach in Newquay. Coastguard teams were paged at about 7pm on Tuesday (August 1) to assist South Western Ambulance Service and Cornwall Air Ambulance. She has been taken to Derriford Hospital where she is now stable. A spokesman for Newquay coastguard said: “Shout 50 team paged at 7pm Tuesday, August 1 to assist South West Ambulance Service and Cornwall Air Ambulance at Towan Beach, Newquay with a casualty who had fallen and suffered serious injuries. Some members of the team assisted the medics whilst others cleared the beach and created a helicopter landing site for Maritime and Coastguard Agency helicopter Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called at 7.20pm on Tuesday, August 1 following a concern of welfare of a woman at Towan Beach, Newquay. “The Coastguard also attended after reports of a woman having fallen 40ft
