Woman injured after van is stolen in Canning Town

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was injured following the collision in Nottingham Avenue, E16. Police were called to the location in Canning Town shortly after 11:52hrs on Sunday, 9 June, to reports of a vehicle theft. As the stolen vehicle, a black Mercedes Vitto with registration plate WR12 LD0, was being driven away, a women in her 50s was struck by the car. It is believed that the car headed towards Prince Regent Lane. The women was taken to a central London hospital. Her injuries are not life threatening or changing. No arrests have been made. Enquires are ongoing and police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the collision.
