Woman Seriously Injured After Fall in Brighton Prompts Police Watchdog Referral

South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb), along with the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance, attended the scene. The woman was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment.

A Sussex Police spokesperson told UKNIP:“On Wednesday (30 July) at around 1.40pm, emergency services received reports of concern for a woman’s welfare in Madeira Drive, Brighton. Officers engaged with the woman, who was taken to hospital by the Ambulance Service with serious injuries.”

Due to prior contact with the woman, Sussex Police has made a referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) in line with standard procedure.

No further details have been released, and the woman’s current condition has not been confirmed.
