Appeal Launched After Two Teen Motorcyclists Killed in Salford Collision

 

Greater Manchester Police have launched an urgent appeal for information following a tragic road traffic collision in Salford that resulted in the deaths of two teenage motorcyclists.

The fatal incident occurred at around 8:20 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, on Lower Broughton Road, where a motorbike carrying two teenage males collided with a silver Vauxhall Viva as it turned into Clarence Street.

Despite the swift response from emergency services, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were sadly pronounced dead later in hospital. Both families are receiving support from specialist officers as a formal investigation continues.

“This is a deeply tragic incident and we are working to establish the full circumstances,” a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.

The 24-year-old woman driving the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No arrests have been made.

Witnesses Urged to Come Forward

Police are appealing to the public for any information that could help piece together the events leading up to the collision. Witnesses, or anyone with dashcam or doorbell footage, are urged to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741, quoting incident number 3458 of 22/05/2025.
