A body has been discovered near Istead Rise, Gravesend, in the search for George Passmore, a 29-year-old who had been reported missing earlier this week.
Passmore was last seen walking in the Coldharbour Road area of Gravesend around 11:25 AM on Sunday, December 29. He was also spotted in the Singlewell Road area earlier that same day but had not been seen since.
This morning (December 31), Kent Police confirmed that a body had been recovered near Istead Rise. Residents in the area reported a heavy emergency services presence, including multiple police cars and ambulances, with crews seen searching nearby fields.
The death is not currently being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner. Passmore’s family has been informed of the development.
Police had previously issued a public appeal for assistance in locating Passmore, urging anyone with information to come forward.
