Body found of Missing Dr Betts

  A leading Hampshire Paediatrician Doctor who worked for many years helping families across the south has sadly been found after a missing appeal was launched. The body of a man has been found during the search for a missing person in Winchester. Formal identification has not yet taken place but the family of missing Dr Peter Betts, 76, have been informed. Dr Betts was reported missing from his home in Winchester at around midday today, (Monday, October 14). Police are not treating the death as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the Coroner. Police would like to thank everyone who helped support our investigation and shared our appeals. Previous Appeal this afternoon: Can you help Police find missing Dr Peter Betts from Winchester? The 76-year-old was last seen at around midday today (14 October) in the Compton Down area of Winchester. This is very out of character for Dr Betts, and police are concerned for his welfare. Dr Betts is described as: white, around 5ft 11ins tall and was last seen wearing a dark woollen sweater, chequered shirt and pale brown denim jeans.
