Kent Police was called at 10.35am on Thursday 10 March 2022, after a body was seen in the River Medway, near Aylesford. Officers attended along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service, and a teenage boy was pronounced deceased at the scene. Formal identification has not yet taken place, however, the family of a 17-year-old boy who was reported missing since Thursday 17 February have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
