Police temporarily closed Brooklands Lake in Dartford this morning (April 28) as part of an intensified search operation for missing man Wayne Parchment, who disappeared nearly three weeks ago.
Kent Police confirmed that Brooklands Lake was shut at 7am while specialist officers combed the area. Although the lake has since reopened, fishing activities remain suspended until further notice.
Who is Wayne Parchment?
Wayne Parchment, 61, was last seen on Thursday, April 10, in the Spital Street area of Dartford. He is described as of mixed race, around 6ft tall, bald, with a grey short beard and moustache.
At the time of his disappearance, Wayne was believed to be wearing black jogging bottoms, a grey top, a dark blue jacket, and black shoes. Police say he frequently visits areas around Central Park, Brooklands Lake, Lowfield Street, and Princes Road.
Wayne often wears a lanyard with two keys around his neck and may walk with a shuffle. Authorities are increasingly concerned for his welfare, especially given that he can sometimes become confused.
