Detectives from West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team have launched a fresh appeal for information on the 15th anniversary of an arson attack that tragically claimed the life of an 81-year-old pensioner in Wakefield.

Léa Florentina Brooke lost her life in the early hours of November 10, 2008, when her house on Walton Lane, Sandal, was targeted in a deliberate act of arson. The fire started after an unidentified individual poured white spirit through her letterbox and set it alight. Despite extensive investigations, no motive has ever been established for the attack.
