The body of a missing girl has been recovered from the River Thames near Gravesend, Kent Police have confirmed.
The recovery follows a major search operation launched after two children entered the river near Royal Pier Road at approximately 1:46pm on Friday, 30 May, prompting an emergency response from multiple agencies.
While a young boy was rescued from the water and remains in stable condition at a local hospital, the girl remained unaccounted for overnight.

Body Located During Second-Day Search
Search operations resumed on Saturday morning involving Kent Police’s Marine Unit, H.M. Coastguard, and the RNLI. At around 11:40am, a body was recovered from the water near Gravesend with assistance from the RNLI.
The girl’s next of kin have been informed, and formal identification has taken place.
