An urgent appeal has been launched after a 20-year-old dog was stolen by a group of five youths in New Addington, Croydon, on Monday, 14 April 2025.
Tilly, a Jack Russell cross Chihuahua, was taken from a green area near Oakbank and Field Way (CR0 0RU), in broad daylight. The elderly and vulnerable dog is deaf, partially blind, and struggles to walk—making her particularly at risk in the current cold weather.

Owner’s Heartbreaking Plea
Tilly’s devastated owner, an elderly man, has spoken out in the hopes of encouraging the public to help locate his beloved companion.
“If they dump her, she can’t see or hear or even walk much—and in this cold, she doesn’t stand a chance,” he said.
“I have her heart medication and seizure medication here as well. Please, if anyone knows anything, help bring her home.”

Police Investigation Underway
Police have confirmed they are reviewing CCTV footage and have photographs of the suspects. The incident has been logged under CAD number 6958/14Apr25.
