Boy, 17, Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash in Warlingham Village
Overview
A 17-year-old boy has tragically died following a serious single-vehicle collision in the early hours of Monday morning in Warlingham, Surrey.
Emergency services were called to Westhall Road, near the junction with the B270, at around 2.30am after reports that a grey Honda Civic had left the road and collided with a tree.
Surrey Police confirmed that the teenage boy, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road remained closed in both directions for several hours while accident investigators conducted a detailed examination of the scene. Local traffic was diverted and officers were seen carrying out door-to-door enquiries.
Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Surrey Police has launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal crash and is appealing to the public for information.
A spokesperson for Surrey Police said:
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who has any dashcam footage of the vehicle prior to the incident, to contact us as soon as possible.”
“The family of the young man who sadly lost his life are being supported by specialist officers, and we ask that their privacy is respected during this devastating time.”

Road Safety Warning

This is the second fatal collision in the Warlingham area in the past 12 months.
