Man Jailed for North End Attempted Murder

Dler Fariq Mohammed, 43, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced today at Portsmouth Crown Court for attempted murder. He violently attacked his brother Hiwar Namiq’s partner, Diana Pranskuniene, plunging a knife into her back outside Barclays Bank in London Road on 9th July last year. The court had earlier heard how he had planted the knife earlier in the day, before retrieving it in a premeditated attack. He was handed a 19-year custodial sentence, with a four-year extension on licence.
