Sussex Roads Police are seeking witnesses after a severe crash in Bersted. The incident occurred on Chichester Road near Bucksham Avenue’s intersection at about 6:40 am on March 19, involving a car striking a woman.
A 77-year-old woman from the area was urgently flown to Royal Sussex County Hospital, suffering grave injuries, and is now in a critical state.
A 53-year-old local man, driving a green Skoda Octavia, was detained on charges of causing serious injury through reckless driving. He has been released on bail as the investigation proceeds.
