Guernsey life saving mission for Coastguard Rescue Helicopter

A Costguard search and Rescue Helicopter has this evening carried out a life saving medical evacuation from the Island of Guernsey. The twin engine helicopter (Rescue 175 ) based at Lee on the Solent was scrambled just after 9pm on Thursday evening. The four crew were tasked to transfer a serious ill person from the Channel Island to Southampton General Hospital" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="200748">Southampton General Hospital. It is understood that the transfer took place just after 10.45pm from Guernsey Hospital to the helicopter base at Lee on the Solent and was met by an ambulance for an onward transfer Southampton General. The incident was over seen by staff from the UK coastguard based at Fareham.
