The incident, which took place on Monday, April 8, 2024, saw multiple trailer units engulfed in flames at a premises located in Hockenden Lane. The emergency call was made at approximately 11.19pm, with firefighting operations extending into the early hours of Tuesday until around 02:08am

To combat the intense blaze, a total of five fire engines were dispatched to the scene. This included reinforcements from the London Fire Brigade, underscoring the severity of the fire. Additionally, a bulk water carrier was brought in to provide the necessary resources for extinguishing the flames.
