Breaking Middle Road closed due Traffic Collision
Middle Road on the Islenof Wight has been closed this morning by Police following a collision. The collision is near Pump Lane. Police and other emergency services are on scene dealing with the incident. Local bus services the aRoute 7 has been put in a divert all journeys to Calbourne will divert via Elm Lane, Forest Road and Gunville in both directions. Two vehicles have been involved in the collision that happened around 08:30am on Thursday morning. it is understood that a Route 7 bus is trapped in the closure. Southern Vectis have said some services had to be cancelled as a result of the collision. A spokesman for the company said:Unfortunately we have have had to withdraw the 09:25 Route 7 Alum Bay- Yarmouth. This is owing to the designated vehicle being unable to turn in the road whilst being caught up in the traffic congestion along Middle Road . UPDATE: 0933:Middle Road has reopened following the collision. One person has been transported to hospital as a result of the Collision been a Vauxhall and a Mercedes. Their injuries are not thought to be serious.
