A serious assault investigation has been launched by British Transport Police (BTP) following a violent attack on a staff member at Ilford Station late on Wednesday night. The incident has led to the closure of the station platform, with forensic teams gathering evidence at the scene.

Emergency services, including paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and crews from the London Fire Brigade, were dispatched to support police officers after reports of the assault.

The staff member sustained significant injuries and was treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital.
