Cambridge Man Jailed for Hiding Cocaine in Deodorant

A man who tried to hide a stash of cocaine in a roll-on deodorant has been jailed.

Sokol Bajraktaritari, 30, was driving a Citroen C4 in Elizabeth Way, Cambridge, on 14 December when he was stopped by officers in an unmarked car.

Bajraktaritari and the car were searched and cocaine was found in a roll-on deodorant, as well as four small packets containing more of the class A drug.

The small packets had an estimated value of £160. The supply hidden in the deodorant was not given an estimated value – but was worth more due to the larger volume.

Bajraktaritari was arrested and taken to Parkside Police Station for questioning.

Further investigations revealed he did not have a valid driving licence or insurance.

Bajraktaritari, of no known address, admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine, driving without insurance and driving without a valid licence.

On Monday (15 January) at Peterborough Crown Court he was jailed for two years and seven months.

PC Ollie Hagen said: “Bajraktaritari thought he could avoid justice by hiding this stash of cocaine inside a deodorant, but he was wrong.

“Day in day out we witness the devastating impact drugs have on people’s lives, as well as the wider community, so it’s important we target those supplying these substances and bring them before the courts.”
