Two vehicle Collision on Newport Dual carriage way causing traffic chaos

Two vehicles have been involved in a collision on Medina Way in Newport this afternoon (Tuesday), prompting a response from all three Island emergency services. Traffic is reported to be heavy on the Northbound carriageway as a result of the road traffic collision at the slip road off Riverway. With Police, fire and Two ambulance crews are on the scene. Members of Island Road are also at the Incident involving a Citroen and Mercedes Three people have been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital, They are not thought to have sustained any serious injuries as a result of the collision

None of the vehicles involved despite other reports have rolled/ It is understood that the German Mercedes pulled out into the lane of the Island registered Citroen. The driver as been taken to St Mary’s Hospitial by Ambulance after being treated at the scene by Paramedics. Fire crews from Isle of Wight Fire and rescue stationed at Newport also attended and carried out scene safety to both vehicles involved.
