Chef attacked with Acid at Fish and Chip Shop in Whitstable

The Chef and part owner of a Fish and Chip has been rushed to hospital after he was attacked with acid attack outside his fish and chip shop in Whitstable,Kent Police were called to Ian’s Plaice – formerly known as Ernie’s Plaice – in Thanet Way, Whitstable earlier this morning. It is understood that the attack is related to an attempted robbery at the ship that went wrong. Police were called to “Ernie’s Plaice” at 8:49am this morning. “A man has been taken to hospital. So far no arrests have been made but we have started to make enquiries.” The victim is believed to be a chef at the fish and chip shop. The attack comes after it was announced anyone who carries acid could face up to four years in prison, or risks a life sentence if they attack someone. The Crown Prosecution Service has issued tough new guidelines to judges following a number of attacks. It’s the first time it’s issued rules specifically referring to acid or corrosive substance
