Delays on Wightlink after link-span failure

Travellers using Wightlink are experiencing and hour and a half delays after the development of a link span fault at Wightlink’s Fishbourne terminal this afternoon (Tuesday). The Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry service is delayed by up to 90 minutes causing major headache for some drivers. Both ferries in operations have been delays with Victoria of Wight currently holding in the Solent as it is unable to dock at the berth. A spokesman for Wightlink said: There are delays of 75 minutes on the Fishbourne-Portsmouth route due to a mechanical issue with an essential piece of equipment. Customers are being told to still check in on time.
