Detectives investigating a fatal collision in Tower Hamlets have named the woman who sadly died

Detectives investigating a fatal collision in Tower Hamlets have named the woman who sadly died. She has been named as Charlotte Kenning, 26, from Goole in Humberside. Her next of kin are aware and are being supported by specially trained officers. In a statement Charlotte’s father said: “Charlotte was the loveliest, most beautiful and kindest person you could ever wish to know. She will be sadly missed and was much loved by everyone who knew her.” Police were called to Limeharbour, near to Crossharbour DLR station, E14, at approximately 23:45hrs on Saturday, 25 May. Officers attended, along with the London Ambulance Service, after reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was Charlotte and she was treated at the scene for a number of injuries, before being taken to hospital. She was pronounced dead on Sunday, 26 May. The driver of the car, a red Vauxhall Astra, remained at the scene; he was not arrested and will be interviewed in due course. Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and who may have witnessed the collision, or who has dash cam footage of the incident, or the events leading up to it.
