Detectives investigating an alleged rape in Edgware have released additional images and footage of a man they seek to speak to in connection with the incident. The rape allegedly occurred at approximately 00:40hrs on Wednesday, 6 September, when the victim, a man in his 20s, was outside Edgware underground station in Station Road, returning home from a night out with friends.
The victim reported that he was approached by a man who engaged him in conversation before allegedly raping him in a nearby car park area. Law enforcement was alerted, prompting an investigation into the incident, with the victim receiving ongoing support from specially trained officers.
New images and video footage depict the sought-after individual in a shop in Station Approach, captured several hours after the reported offence.
Detective Inspector Richard Lewsley of the North West Command Unit urged the public to scrutinise the released images and share them within local community groups and forums. He stressed the importance of the case, mentioning that extensive inquiries, including the review of over 100 hours of CCTV footage, have been conducted so far.
The investigators believe that the man is either a frequent visitor to or a local resident of the Edgware and Hendon Central areas. DI Lewsley requested anyone who recognises the individual or possesses information that could aid the investigation to contact the authorities immediately.
