Crosby Man Arrested for Pretending to Be Doctor

Detectives from Merseyside Police have released images of a man they believe may have crucial information regarding a sexual assault that occurred last month. The incident took place near Tesco on Chapel Street in Southport.

On Saturday, June 8, at approximately 2.25pm a 17-year-old girl and her friend were leaving Southport train station when the assault occurred. The victim is currently receiving support from officers as the investigation continues.

Detective Constable Dave Rutherford urged the public to come forward if they recognise the man in the images. “He may be able to provide valuable information to assist our ongoing inquiries,” said Rutherford. The assault occurred on the same day as the Save the Rave festival in Southport, and the victim and her friend had travelled on the train between Seaforth and Southport.

Anyone who was in the area on that day and may have witnessed the incident or captured relevant footage or images is encouraged to contact Merseyside Police. You can reach the Merseyside Police Contact Centre via Facebook, call 101, or provide anonymous information through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111, referencing case number 24000510868.
