Public Urged to Avoid Area as Police, Firefighters, and Paramedics Attend Scene

A major incident is currently unfolding on Hammersmith Bridge, with multiple emergency services working to resolve the situation.

The Metropolitan Police’s Hammersmith North Safer Neighbourhood Team confirmed the ongoing operation on social media, urging the public to stay away from the area to allow emergency teams to manage the situation.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), @MPSHammSNT said:

“There is currently an ongoing incident on Hammersmith Bridge involving multiple emergency services. We advise avoiding the area so that our teams from @Ldn_Ambulance, @LFBHamFul, and @MPSHammFul can bring this incident to a safe conclusion.”

Emergency Services at the Scene

The London Ambulance Service (LAS), London Fire Brigade (LFB), and Metropolitan Police officers are all in attendance,  following a person having an mental health breakdown.

Traffic in the area is experiencing significant disruption, with police advising motorists and pedestrians to seek alternative routes.

Public Reaction and Transport Disruptions

Local residents and commuters have reported heavy congestion around Hammersmith as emergency responders continue their operation. Several bus routes that cross the bridge have been diverted, and delays are expected on surrounding roads.

Transport for London (TfL) has advised passengers to check for updates before travelling.
