Emergency services rushed to the scene of a serious two-vehicle collision in East London this evening, prompting the closure of a major road in both directions and disruption to multiple bus routes.

The incident occurred at 5.11 pm on Thursday, 10 April, on High Street near Fullwell Cross.

Police, London Fire Brigade, and London Ambulance Service were all called to attend.

Firefighters used specialist cutting tools to free those trapped inside the vehicles and worked to make both vehicles and the surrounding area safe.
