Emergency services are responding to a train collision on a remote line near Llanbrynmair, Mid Wales. British Transport Police were called to the scene at 7:29 pm after two trains collided at low speed on the Cambrian line.
Extensive Emergency Response
Coastguard helicopters have been deployed, providing light for paramedics, fire and rescue teams, and Dyfed Powys Police officers as they work at the site. Multiple road ambulances and an air ambulance are also reported to be in attendance, highlighting the scale of the response.
The collision has resulted in the closure of all lines between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth, with disruption expected until the end of the day. Transport for Wales (TfW) has implemented rail replacement services, although they are unable to stop at Caersws due to the ongoing situation.
Road Closures and Travel Disruption
The main A470 trunk road in Talerddig has been closed by police, who are advising motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. Additionally, a road in Dolfach is closed as authorities manage the situation and ensure the safety of those involved.
