The Metropolitan Police have officially named Keanu Harker, 18, as the victim of a fatal shooting in Enfield, as officers release the first image of the teenager and confirm one suspect has now been charged with murder.

Keanu was shot on Great Cambridge Road on Thursday, 26 June, and later died in hospital despite efforts by emergency responders.

Police and London Ambulance Service crews rushed to the scene following reports of gunshots. Keanu was found seriously injured and transported to hospital, where he later died.

His family are being supported by specially trained officers during what police have described as a “shocking and tragic incident.”

Charges and Arrests

On Sunday, 29 June, a 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the shooting. He has since been charged with murder and is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 1 July. He cannot be named for legal reasons.

A second suspect, a 24-year-old man, was arrested on Monday, 30 June on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. He remains in police custody as enquiries continue.

Police Statement

Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, leading the Met’s Enfield command, said:

“Our thoughts remain with Keanu’s family and friends, and anyone else affected by his death. This is a shocking incident to happen in any community.

We are working at pace to ensure that those responsible for Keanu’s death are held to account.”

She urged the public not to speculate online and instead share any information they may have with the police:

“If you’d prefer to stay anonymous, you can provide information via the charity Crimestoppers.

Please do approach any of our officers in the area – they’re there to offer support and reassurance.”

Officers continue to investigate several lines of enquiry and ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant footage to come forward.
