Fatal A12 Crash in Hackney: Police Urgently Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

 

A 30-year-old man from Camden has tragically died after a serious collision on the westbound A12 near the Lea Interchange in Hackney, prompting a major investigation by the Metropolitan Police.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:16pm on Saturday, 10 May 2025, involving a motorcycle on the elevated section of the A12.

Emergency Services Rush to the Scene

London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance responded swiftly, but despite their efforts, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Police say no other vehicles are believed to have been directly involved at this time, but investigations remain ongoing.

Police Statement: “Help Us Understand What Happened”

Detective Sergeant Rob Groombridge, who is leading the investigation, said:

“Sadly, a 30-year-old man died yesterday following a road traffic collision in Hackney. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

“We are working at pace to identify what happened on the A12 yesterday evening, and would encourage anyone who witnessed the incident, or who was in the surrounding area, to please come forward and speak to us.”

Dashcam Footage Could Be Key

The Met Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage who was driving in the area between 18:00 and 18:30hrs on Saturday evening.
