Firefighters have warned about the dangers of lithium-ion batteries after a flat fire on Lanark Square, Isle of Dogs.

Smoke Inhalation and Damage

The fire broke out in a second-floor flat of a four-storey residential block. Fire crews arrived to find part of the flat damaged by flames. Three residents were treated by the London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.

Lithium Battery Failure Blamed

The blaze is believed to have started due to the failure of a lithium-ion battery in a power bank that was charging at the time.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said:
