A former Devon and Cornwall Police officer and his girlfriend have been arrested in Newquay under suspicion of stalking and harassment, following an inquiry led by West Yorkshire Police.
Harry Tangye, 55, and Noora Al Amoora, 38, were taken into custody on Saturday, December 27, 2024, after officers from Devon and Cornwall Police executed the arrests on behalf of West Yorkshire Police.
Allegations and Police Investigation
The pair are accused of stalking and harassing an individual between August 25 and September 7, 2024. The nature of the allegations has not yet been disclosed in full, but police have confirmed that the case remains under investigation.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
“A male and female were arrested by Devon and Cornwall Police on behalf of West Yorkshire Police in connection with an allegation of stalking and harassment reported to have taken place between August 25 and September 7, 2024. Both have since been released pending further enquiries.”
Arrest and Bail Conditions
Tangye and Al Amoora were reportedly arrested in Newquay and have since been released on bail while police continue their inquiries. Their bail conditions have not been made public, but they are expected to report back to authorities next month.
The arrest of a former police officer has drawn attention, particularly given Tangye’s long-standing career in law enforcement.
