A girl has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car on Lewes Road, Newhaven on Monday evening (30 June).

Emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian shortly after 4.25pm. The South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) confirmed that paramedics were joined by the Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey, Sussex, who provided on-scene care before flying the injured girl to King’s College Hospital in London for urgent treatment.

Road Closed for Investigation

A section of Lewes Road was temporarily closed to allow for emergency services and police to investigate the incident. The road has since been reopened.
