Just after midnight, emergency services were alerted to a serious incident on Davigdor Road in Hove after receiving reports of a person being hit by a car. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a woman in her 40s from Hove was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

[block_2]“A 28-year-old man from Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving a vehicle without insurance or a driving licence. He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
“Davigdor Road has now reopened following an earlier road closure.
