Five Arrested Following Serious Assault on Isle of Sheppey

The incident involving 10 to 15 people, happened in the High Street near its junction with Beach Street, at around 8.30pm on Saturday 4 May 2024. The disorder did not lead to any reported injuries.

The latest suspects, four men, a woman and a teenage girl, were detained on Tuesday 7 May. They are all Sheerness residents and have been bailed to return to the police station, pending further investigation.

The District Commander for Swale, Chief Inspector Diane Middlemiss, said: ‘We have now arrested nine people in connection with the disturbance reported in Sheerness town centre last weekend.

‘Incidents of violence and disorderly behaviour are completely unacceptable and have a detrimental impact on law-abiding residents and local businesses. We will be relentless in our efforts to track down those responsible.

‘Our investigators are continuing to urge witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police, and anybody who recorded footage of the incident to contact the appeal line.’
