Left for dead after hit and run collision in Portsmouth

Sunday 21st July A father of 3 was left for dead found laying in the road unconscious with serious head injuries after being knocked off his bright orange push bike. This hit and run happened at the the top of the Eastern Road A2030 by the Farlington Sainsbury’s. The seriously injured man was found by a passerby who kindly called for an ambulance around 9:15pm and was rushed into QA. That call probably saved the man’s life. Mark’s head injuries were so bad that the hospital staff thought he wouldn’t make it through the night but he thankfully did. Following emergency surgery h had over 200 stitches in his head and further operations involving plastic surgery on his left arm to try and save the movement in it. Mark is thankfully on the road to recovery but it will be a long road and he may not be able to work again. Collisions happen and would accept it if that was the case but without knowing what happened Sunday night is making this harder. People panic if you witnessed anything please contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101 and do the right thing.
