Fire Erupts on Brighton Road
england/south-east/east-sussex/”>england/south-east/east-sussex/”>East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) were alerted at 2:09am on 29 September 2025 about a large vehicle fire on <a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.Brighton Road, heading east between Lewes and <a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.Falmer.
The fire started on a bus but quickly spread to the petrol station <a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.Shopshop, sparking a major incident.
Massive Firefight with Six Breathing Apparatus Deployed

- Firefighters initially fought the blaze using two sets of breathing apparatus and two foam jets.
- By 3:30am, the response escalated to six sets of breathing apparatus, two foam jets, and one main jet.
Sussex Police are on hand managing traffic chaos while crews battle-wales/”>battle the flames.
Warning to Drivers and Locals
Authorities have urged drivers to avoid <a href=”https:///uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.<a href=”https:///www.uknip.co.Brighton Road altogether. Residents nearby have been advised to keep windows and doors firmly shut due to thick smoke.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries so far.
