A children’s social worker and a convicted Lewisham criminal have been jailed for a combined 24 years after they were found to be running a major drug and firearms network across London and the South East.
Chloe Scott, 27, and Miles Addy, 28, were sentenced following a Metropolitan Police investigation that began when a 15-year-old boy was stopped at Tower Hill Underground Station in December 2022 carrying drugs.
Social Worker Exploited Minor in Drug Operation
Police analysis of the teenager’s phone uncovered communications revealing he was working under Chloe Scott, who was actively instructing him to deliver and sell drugs—despite her professional role as a children’s social worker.
The investigation escalated on 3 June 2023, when armed officers intercepted Scott’s car on Seven Sisters Road in Islington. Inside, they found:
-
Half a kilo of cocaine
-
Five large hunting knives
Links to Firearms and Lewisham Offender
Officers discovered that Scott was in frequent contact with Miles Addy, a convicted criminal from King Alfred Avenue, SE6, who was serving a sentence for a previous firearms offence at the time.
Despite Addy being behind bars, the pair coordinated a criminal enterprise, distributing Class A drugs and firearms to customers across London and beyond.
Footage recovered from Scott’s phone showed her delivering weapons and drugs, allegedly under Addy’s instructions. At least two firearms tied to the pair were linked to separate criminal investigations, including a murder and a firearms seizure in November 2023 involving Joy Hyde-Coleman, who was sentenced to five years in August 2024.
Sentencing and Charges
Scott, of Whitehead Close, N18, pleaded guilty to:
-
Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (x2)
-
Selling or transferring a firearm (x2)
-
Conspiracy to possess firearms
-
Conspiracy to possess ammunition
-
Causing unnecessary suffering to a dog
-
Possession of hunting knives
She was sentenced to a lengthy custodial term and banned from owning animals for 12 years.
Addy admitted to:
-
Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (x2)
-
Conspiracy to possess firearms
-
Conspiracy to possess ammunition
Together, the pair received a total of 24 years’ imprisonment.
Met Police Condemn “Abuse of Trust”
A Met Police spokesperson said:
“This case shows a shocking breach of trust. A professional tasked with protecting vulnerable young people was instead exploiting them for serious organised crime.”
