A crash involving two lorries on the A282 near the M25 Dartford Crossing has caused major delays, with three lanes closed and traffic queues stretching back for miles.

What Happened?

The collision occurred on the A282 southbound between Junctions 1 and 1B in Dartford, just south of the Dartford Crossing. The incident was reported around 2:55 PM today (Friday, February 7, 2025), leading to severe traffic disruption.

Traffic Impact and Road Closures

  • Three out of four lanes are closed on the A282 southbound, causing severe congestion.
  • National Highways traffic officers are on the scene, with recovery vehicles en route.
  • National Highways  has issued a statement, confirming:

    “Severe delays and two lanes closed due to crash on M25 clockwise around J1B A296 Princes Road (Dartford). Congestion to J31 (Thurrock / Lakeside). Lanes one and two (of four) are closed.”

  • Delays of at least 60 minutes are expected for drivers approaching the crossing.

Emergency Response

National Highways has dispatched officers to assist in managing the scene and clearing the wreckage. There are currently no reports on injuries, but the extent of damage to the vehicles involved remains unclear.

Alternative Routes

Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes where possible and allow extra travel time if heading toward the Dartford Crossing. Motorists can consider using the A13 or A2 as diversion options.
