Passengers Trapped Onboard
The three trains, which came to a halt between sections of the track, have left dozens of passengers stuck on board. Fire crews, British Transport Police, and London Ambulance Service units have been deployed to help safely remove passengers from the trains.
A Network Rail spokesperson said:
“We are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power and support the evacuation of passengers. The cause of the outage is still under investigation.”
Cause Under Investigation
It remains unclear what triggered the power failure, and engineers are currently on site examining infrastructure components. A technical fault with the overhead supply system is suspected, but has not been officially confirmed.
Travel Disruption
Services through Loughborough Junction and surrounding lines are suspended. Commuters are advised to check with National Rail Enquiries or Thameslink before attempting to travel through the area.
