A major emergency response is underway this afternoon (Friday, May 30) following reports that two people have entered the River Thames near Royal Pier Terrace in Gravesend.
At approximately 1.46pm, officers were called by the Port of London Authority (PLA) to concerns for the welfare of two individuals seen entering the water near Royal Pier Road.

Multi-Agency Response
Emergency crews, including Kent Police, the RNLI, South East Coast Ambulance Service, and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, rushed to the scene. A number of police cars and a van cordoned off Commercial Place, while officers stationed along the river from Royal Terrace Pier to Town Pier have been seen actively scanning the water.
Ongoing Investigation and Appeal
No further details have yet been released about the identities or condition of the individuals involved. Authorities are urging members of the public to avoid the area to allow emergency responders to continue their work.
