A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a brutal stabbing in New Addington, Croydon.
A spokesperson for the force said:
“Police were called at about 10.50pm on Sunday, February 2, to reports of a man found injured in the road on Lodge Lane in Croydon.
“Emergency services attended. The man, who is believed to be aged in his 40s, was found to be suffering from stab injuries.
“He was taken to hospital, where his condition has been assessed as life-changing. A 23-year-old man was arrested on February 4 on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.
“Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101, quoting CAD 7151/02Feb.”
Local Concerns Over Rising Violence
Residents in New Addington have voiced their concerns over escalating violent crime, with some saying their children are stepping over blood trails on their way to school.
“We feel unsafe in our own neighbourhood,” one resident told reporters. “This is happening too often.”
The Met Police has increased patrols in the area and assured the public they are doing everything possible to bring those responsible to justice.
